Glocalnet Lures Biz Subs With Cheap Broadband
Glocalnet offers three speed options for small enterprises: 0.5 Mbit/s, 8 Mbit/s and 24 Mbit/s. Both the 8 Mbit/s and the 24 Mbit/s plans cost $55.28 per month, while the 0.5 Mbit/s plan costs $28.64 per month. Connection for each subscription costs $132.50, with additional equipment charges of $53 in total (for a modem and any other peripheral gear).
According to Glocalnet, there are 600,000 businesses in Sweden with as many as 20 employees, and this is the market Glocalnet is targeting with the new service offer. TelecomWeb’s sister division Tarifica says Glocalnet is the third largest telecom operator in the Swedish residential market, sporting a customer base of approximately 500,000. So far, Glocalnet's strategy has mainly been to offer PSTN and DSL to residential customers at a competitive price.
However, the business sector can be seen as a key component of the Scandinavian telecom market, and competition for customers is cut-throat. Tarifica adds that Telia no doubt will respond with some kind of equivalent offer, but businesses don't buy on price alone. The majority of studies on purchasing criteria have shown the reliability of an operator's data service to be what swings most deals.
